CareBridge is a web-based GenAI platform designed to address the growing mental health challenges faced by college students. In recent years, rising levels of anxiety, depression, burnout, and social isolation among students have highlighted the urgent need for accessible, stigma-free psychological support systems within educational institutions. Unfortunately, traditional counselling setups are either underutilized or unavailable in many rural and semi-urban colleges.
CareBridge bridges this gap by combining Generative AI, voice interaction, and data-driven recommendations to create a holistic, tech-powered mental wellness ecosystem.
The platform’s RAG-based Chatbot, powered by Google’s Gemini API, provides accurate and empathetic mental health guidance by retrieving verified and reliable information. Students seeking instant support can interact with the Voice-based AI Counselor, which listens, understands, and responds conversationally — offering real-time emotional assistance.
Through the Counseling Booking System, users can schedule sessions with professional human counselors and choose their preferred medium (chat, audio, or video). Meanwhile, the Personalized Resource Hub recommends curated self-help articles, mindfulness videos, and blogs based on each user’s emotional wellness score from a short questionnaire.
To promote a sense of belonging, the Community Support Space allows anonymous peer interaction — letting students share experiences without fear of judgment. Additionally, the Emergency Support System ensures safety by providing one-tap access to helplines and verified mental health professionals during critical situations.
Built using React.js, Tailwind CSS, Flask, and PostgreSQL, CareBridge is optimized for a 6-hour hackathon prototype while remaining scalable for institutional deployment.
By merging empathy with AI, CareBridge empowers students to seek help confidently, enhances mental wellness accessibility, and enables institutions to take proactive, data-driven action — shaping a future where every student’s mind feels safe, supported, and heard.
