DataLens is an AI-powered data dictionary and schema intelligence platform that solves one of the most persistent problems in data engineering — undocumented, inaccessible, and misunderstood databases. By accepting SQL DDL files, uploaded schemas, or live SQLite databases, DataLens automatically extracts complete metadata including tables, columns, relationships, and constraints. It then uses AI (supporting Claude, GPT-4o, and Gemini) to generate plain-English business summaries, usage recommendations, and quality scores for every table. An interactive ER diagram visualizes relationships, a quality dashboard tracks schema health, and a conversational chat interface lets any user — technical or not — ask natural language questions and receive working SQL queries in return. Documentation is exportable in JSON and Markdown formats, making DataLens a complete solution for database discovery, documentation, and democratization.
