Delhi Understands is an interactive air quality and public health dashboard designed to make Delhi's pollution data easy to understand and actionable. Built with Python, Streamlit, Elasticsearch, and Pandas, the platform enables users to explore historical air quality data through dynamic pollutant selection, customizable date filters, and real-time analytics.
The dashboard provides key insights such as average and maximum pollutant levels, monthly pollution trends, and health recommendations based on PM2.5 concentrations. By transforming complex environmental data into clear visualizations and practical guidance, Delhi Understands helps citizens better understand pollution patterns and make informed decisions about their daily activities and health.
The project demonstrates how Elasticsearch can be used not only as a search engine but also as a powerful analytics platform for processing and visualizing large-scale environmental datasets. Our vision is to evolve Delhi Understands into a comprehensive public health companion with live air quality monitoring, AI-powered insights, pollution forecasting, and personalized health alerts.
