MedSummary AI - Project Overview
PROJECT PURPOSE:
MedSummary AI is designed to bridge the communication gap between complex medical
documentation and patient understanding. By leveraging advanced AI, the platform
transforms dense, jargon-heavy medical reports (PDFs) into clear, actionable, and
visually engaging health summaries.
CORE GOALS:
1. Accessibility: Translate complex medical terminology into plain language that
patients can easily understand without losing clinical accuracy.
2. Visualization: Automatically extract and chart vital signs and lab trends to
provide a clear picture of a patient's health trajectory.
3. Actionable Insights: Highlight key findings, current medications, and
personalized "Next Steps" to improve treatment adherence and health literacy.
4. Privacy & Security: Ensure "Zero Data Retention" by processing reports
exclusively in-memory, protecting sensitive patient information.
5. Efficiency: Save time for both patients and healthcare providers by
summarizing hundreds of pages of records into a single page dashboard.
TECHNOLOGY STACK:
- Frontend: React (Vite), Tailwind CSS 4.0, Recharts, Lucide React.
- Backend: Django REST Framework.
