Delhi is home to over 20 million people, but reporting a single pothole can still feel harder than ordering food online. Every year, government portals receive tens of thousands of civic complaints, yet citizens continue struggling with manual forms, department confusion, duplicate reports, and little visibility into resolution. Around the world, places like Singapore, Japan are already using AI to make urban governance smarter and more proactive. And hereby presenting Nagrik, an AI-powered smart civic platform that turns every colony into a connected, responsive, and transparency in how those complaints are handled.
Nagrik provides two dedicated role-based portals—one for citizens to report, track, and engage with civic issues, and another for government officials to manage complaints, monitor departmental performance, and make data-driven decisions—creating a connected ecosystem between citizens and authorities.
Citizens can report issues naturally through text or voice in English and Hindi, or simply upload an image of the problem. AI then understands the complaint, analyzes visual evidence using a Vision Language Model, identifies the issue category, generates contextual complaint details, and determines the appropriate government department and priority level. The goal is to eliminate the manual, fragmented, and reactive nature of traditional complaint systems. Nagrik automates complaint structuring, department routing, prioritization, and real-time status synchronization, while keeping government officials in the loop for transparency and control. Every complaint is geo-tagged and tracked from submission to resolution, allowing citizens to see how their issue progresses while enabling authorities to monitor departmental performance, identify recurring infrastructure problems, and detect high-risk civic hotspots,.Beyond resolving individual complaints, Nagrik aims to turn accumulated civic data into predictive intelligence. Its analytics layer provides ward-wise trends, issue distributions, resolution patterns, and infrastructure hotspots, helping authorities shift from simply responding to problems toward anticipating and preventing them. Built with React, Node.js, FastAPI, Vision AI, Gemini, Supabase, and Google Cloud Run, the platform combines conversational AI, computer vision, autonomous decision-making, and cloud-native infrastructure into a scalable civic governance solution.
Ultimately, Nagrik’s goal is not just to digitize complaint registration, but to digitize civic decision-making—making governance faster, smarter, more transparent, and more responsive to the communities it serves.
“Every complaint tells a story. Nagrik turns that story into action.”
