Our problem statement was to develop a platform where people who are interested in gardening can find their nearby local nurseries online , support the local business in increasing their sales and contribute to vocal for local india. this is a project fully inspired by the impact of gardening during the COVID-19 pandemic.
PROBLEM
- A lot of people want to try gardening and the trend increased during lockdown and covid pandemic , but they often give up due to overwhelming amount of information on the internet .
- So we will build an application which will guide them through the basics of gardening (keeping the Indian climate and soil in mind) , the tools required , types of pots and plants (indoor and outdoor).
- Some times consumers don’t even know that there exist a nursery shop in their city and end up paying more for the same product they could have got locally , sometimes plant die before delivery due to long delivery time , but buying plants locally will help reduce shipping time.
“we are trying to bridge the gap between local sellers”
ADVANTAGE
What makes our solution special is we are focusing on local nursery’s who are often overlooked by big e commerce sites , are not able to get customers online and stick to the conventional way in the age of internet.
- We will provide customers best deals across their local nursery (like make my trip .com ) but for plants(suitable with their environment and climate ) ,seeds and gardening tools . let them compare prices and give special discount
- use recommendation system to suggest people more relevant product and hence increasing sales .
- promoting gardening with perfectly designed elements we could start a new topic in social trend making people post their garden styles in different handles, accomplishment badges building a worldwide community
I didn’t find any other platform helping beginners , getting started with gardening and connecting them with local nurseries.
“Huge scope and a open untouched market”
HOW WE BUILT IT
most of the design inspiration came from nextjs-commerce web template ( with some may tweak from outside to make it look better for our condition
TECHNOLOGIES
- nodejs
- postcss
- nextjs
- typescript
- react
- HTML
- turbo build sys
- yarn package manager
also with the power of around ~10 cups of coffee ☕
CHALLENGES WE RAN INTO
during development, we had to find out so many things like:
- were to code
- what is the best, optimal, fast way to build a good looking, fast, SEO compatible site
- where to host site for free
- how to accomplish easy methods in publishing products
- designing it to make it look comfortable to human eyes and satisfy our theme
- learning js, typescriptand so many other technologies
- solving the crazy problems ( The CRLFendings ) with windows to stop conflicting with code COMMIT-50005ce
- debugging & solving problems with npm& nodejsversions and packages
- as code is opensource make it better for visitors or to the people who adapt with our template by adapting to dev containers COMMIT-dockercoantainer

MARKET
Our target market are plant enthusiast and beginner gardeners
According to a article by the Hindu-
“first-time gardeners find comfort in nurturing plants and growing their own food at home”
And it is estimated that
“The plant and home gardening industry is estimated to grow at a CAGR of 50% and reach a market size of $4 Billion by 2025 in India, thus holding great potential for growth.”
HOW IT WILL HELP ENVIRONMENT ??
- it will encourage more people to buy plants.
- plants can reduce our carbon footprint and help us combat climate change.
We may be just started and our revision of the project may not look fully suited to our aim but with time and help we continue working on this project and making better in every iteration. one day with some more efforts and heartful people we start publishing the products and start satisfying our aim.
And to sum it all up
The true laboratory is the mind , where behind illusions we uncover the laws of truth.
