Parivahan Sewa — Citizen-First Redesign is a complete UX/UI reimagining of India’s Parivahan digital ecosystem, designed to make essential transport services easier, faster, and more intuitive for citizens.
The existing ecosystem offers a wide range of services across vehicle registration, driving licences, eChallan, permits, fitness, pollution certificates, vehicle scrapping, fancy numbers, and more—but its complex navigation and system-driven structure can make simple tasks difficult to discover.
This redesign shifts the experience from “understanding the government system” to “getting your task done.”
Key improvements include:
- Task-first service discovery with clear categories and universal search
- Simplified information architecture across vehicle, licence, challan, permit, and compliance services
- Guided multi-step application flows with verification, documents, payment, and tracking
- My Parivahan for centralized access to applications, vehicles, licences, and important actions
- Clear separation of Citizen, Business/Dealer, and Government/RTO experiences
- Responsive, accessibility-focused design across mobile, tablet, and desktop
- Consistent design system with reusable components and patterns
- Better surfacing of existing Parivahan ecosystem services without removing functionality
The prototype focuses on demonstrating how a large, complex government platform can become simpler, more discoverable, and citizen-centric while retaining its full service breadth.
