PNGProtect is an enterprise-grade image security and digital rights management platform. It is specifically designed to help digital creators, photographers, and businesses protect their visual intellectual property in the era of generative AI and large-scale model training.
The project functions as a comprehensive, multi-layered defense system for digital assets, combining stealthy ownership tracking, advanced privacy controls, and proactive defense against unauthorized AI scraping.
Core Capabilities
AI Training Prevention (AI Shield): This is a standout feature that uses adversarial machine learning (like FGSM perturbation) to inject imperceptible noise into images. This "poisons" the data, confusing computer vision models (like ResNet, CLIP, or ViT) and preventing them from effectively training on the protected artwork. It includes a visualizer tool so users can see exactly how the AI's perception is disrupted.
Invisible Watermarking: Embeds cryptographic, tamper-proof watermarks directly into the image's pixels (using LSB steganography). These watermarks are invisible to the naked eye but survive compression, format conversions, and minor edits to consistently prove ownership.
Blockchain Registry Management: Offers Web3 integration to register immutable proof of ownership on blockchains like Ethereum, Polygon, and Arbitrum, utilizing smart contracts and wallet connections (like MetaMask).
Forensic Tamper Detection: Provides advanced analytical tools to verify image authenticity. It can detect if an image has been manipulated, cropped, or subjected to content-aware fills by analyzing pixel-level data, layer anomalies, and compression artifacts.
Privacy-First Metadata Management: Automatically strips sensitive EXIF data—such as GPS geolocation, camera serial numbers, and device fingerprints—to protect the creator's privacy before an image is distributed.
Enterprise Security & Architecture: Built as a modern, production-ready full-stack application. It secures its API endpoints with robust measures, including JWT-based authentication, granular role-based access control (Admin, Creator, Viewer), and rate limiting.
