Project Description — seeClear.ai

Our project, seeClear.ai, is a Chrome extension made to help people who are color blind see colors more clearly on the web. It changes the colors on websites so that people with different types of color blindness (like protanopia, deuteranopia, or tritanopia) can easily tell them apart.

The extension also uses Google’s Gemini AI to make it smarter. Users can describe how they see colors — for example, “red looks brownish to me” — and the AI suggests new color filters or changes to make those colors easier to see. This makes the experience more personalized and user-friendly.

Main Features:

AI suggests better color filters based on how the user describes colors.

Real-time color detection and correction on any website.

Pre-set filters for different types of color blindness.

Simple and clean interface with buttons to turn filters on or off.

Chat option to interact with the AI and customize filters.

Technologies Used: We used HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to build the extension. The Gemini API was used for the AI part to understand user input and generate suggestions. We also followed color accessibility guidelines to make sure the color changes are actually helpful.

Learnings: While working on this project, we learned how AI can make accessibility tools more personalized and powerful. We understood that every user’s color perception is a bit different, so flexibility is important. We also learned how to connect an API securely and handle responses properly. Most importantly, we realized that a simple and easy-to-use design matters a lot when building something for accessibility.
