SilentVoice

ai ml sign language tensorflow gemini

This build is a real-time sign language translation program that leverages computer vision and machine learning to interpret common facial expressions and sign language gestures through a camera. The program converts these recognized gestures into real-time text, which is then processed using NLP and neural TTS technology to translate the generated text into spoken language. It supports multiple Indian languages, enabling natural voice interactions for better accessibility.

Why Did We Build It?

The primary goal of this project is to bridge the communication gap between the deaf community and non-sign language users. Many individuals struggle to communicate effectively with people who use sign language, and existing solutions are either expensive or lack real-time capabilities. By developing this AI-powered translator, we aim to make communication seamless, inclusive, and accessible to everyone.

How Can It Be Useful for Others?

  • Empowers the Deaf Community: Enables individuals who use sign language to communicate easily with those who don't.
  • Real-Time Interaction: Converts sign language into instant text and speech, facilitating faster conversations.
  • Multi-Language Support: Helps in translating gestures into spoken language across various Indian languages.
  • Educational Tool: Includes quizzes and exercises to help users learn sign language and engage with the deaf community.
  • Affordable & Accessible: Unlike traditional sign language interpreters, this solution is AI-driven and does not require a human intermediary.
