SonaAI - The AI Co-Teacher That Knows When to Speak
Link to open source: https://github.com/GulamShaikh/Ecosphere-SonaAI
SonaAI is an AI co-teacher that joins live online classrooms as a real participant - not a chatbot on the side. Built on Next.js and Agora's Conversational AI engine, it listens to the lesson in real time, detects when students are struggling, and asks the teacher's permission before jumping in to help.
Teachers get a live dashboard with a shareable class code, course materials, and session history. Students join with that code and get their own dashboard with study materials, achievements, and attendance tracking. Inside a live session, everyone shares one room with named tiles, a live transcript, and intervention cards that show the AI's reasoning with a simple Allow / Not now choice - teachers can set the AI to AUTO, ASK, or MUTE mode depending on how much control they want to hand over.
After class, teachers get a downloadable summary, and students get a follow-up exercise generated from what was actually discussed. The goal: real-time voice transcripts, intelligent responses, and seamless collaboration, all in one place - AI-assisted teaching that feels additive, not intrusive.
