The need for our project arises from the severe environmental and health impacts caused by stubble burning(पराली जलाना), a common practice in regions like Punjab and Haryana. Currently, farmers burn stubble to quickly clear their fields for the next crop cycle, which releases harmful pollutants into the atmosphere. This practice worsens air quality, leading to the closure of schools, increased road accidents due to reduced visibility, and a surge in respiratory diseases like asthma. Hospitals struggle to manage the influx of patients, and the region experiences higher rates of lung disease, particularly among vulnerable groups.
Without a solution, these harmful effects will persist, further endangering public health and contributing to climate change.
Our project, Stubble Mart, offers a transformative approach by turning stubble into a valuable resource. By providing farmers with a direct platform to sell their stubble, along with unique cutting services(presently not gieven by any company or government)and transportation, machine rentals and Agricultural Shops through collaborations, we eliminate the need for burning. This would not only reduce air pollution but also create new income streams for farmers and meet the growing demand for raw materials in industries through OS algorithm -Multi-Level Feedback Queue.
The expected outcome is a significant reduction in air pollution, improved public health, enhanced economic opportunities for farmers, and also a generating huge income for us through our Business Model and a sustainable solution to the problem of stubble burning.
