TrustAI is an advanced Chrome Extension and Web Platform that acts as your personal digital forensic agent. Unlike traditional antiviruses that rely on slow blacklists, TrustAI uses a multi-layered AI approach to analyze the intent and context of a webpage in real-time.

What it does:

Active Phishing Defense: Detects zero-day phishing attacks by analyzing page structure, DOM elements, and visual trust signals—catching scams before they are reported.
Fake News Neutralizer: Cross-references article claims against a knowledge base of verified global news sources to instantly flag misinformation.
Visual Forensics (OCR): "Reads" text inside images and screenshots to detect text-based threats that bypass standard text filters.
Trust Score: Assigns every page a tangible User Trust Score (0-100) with detailed reasoning, so you know exactly why a page is safe or suspicious.
How we built it: We built a hybrid architecture for speed and privacy.

Frontend: The Chrome Extension (Manifest V3) interacts directly with the browser DOM, while our Next.js web dashboard provides deep-dive analytics.
Backend: A robust Django (Python) API handles the heavy lifting, orchestrating AI models for context verification and maintaining the threat database.
AI Integration: We use advanced AI Agents, LLMs and Tesseract.js (for OCR) to parse unstructured web data into structured "verdicts."
