Why I built 360 file tools that run fully inside the browser

Most free PDF and image sites ask you to upload your file to their server. I did that for years, and one day I stopped and asked where my passport scan and my college marksheets were actually going.
So I built OpenFile. It is a free, open source (MIT) toolkit with 360+ tools for PDF, images, video, audio, fonts, archives, eBooks and data files. The trick is that everything runs inside the browser tab. The heavy work is done by WebAssembly and Web Workers, so a PDF merge or a video conversion never leaves your device.
What you get: no uploads, no sign up, no watermark, no file size limits. It installs as an app and works offline, and there are builds for Windows, macOS, Linux and Android too.
It is built with React 19, TypeScript, Vite and Tailwind 4. If you are a student or a dev from India who wants a first open source project to contribute to, adding a new tool is a good place to start.
