Smart India Hackathon 2024 is a nationwide initiative to provide students a platform to solve some of the pressing problems we face in our daily lives, and thus inculcate a culture of product innovation and a mindset of problem solving.

Important dates and deadlines: (Tentative)
1. Last date for the submission of solution (PPT) against the problem statement: 6th September, 2024
2. Internal Smart India Hackathon (SIH)-2024: 10th September, 2024
3. Shortlisting of teams: 11th September, 2024
Important Guidelines :
1. The students are supposed to form a team of 6 members including the team leader and at least one female member is mandatory. Only current students of UIET are allowed. One student can only be a part of 1 team.
2. For problem statement that is focusing on digital solution, the majority of the team members MUST be well-versed with programming skills. For any problem statement with inclusion of any hardware components, we encourage multi-disciplinary teams – which means your team should have a good mix of Mechanical Engineers, Electronic Engineers, Product Designers and Programmers.
3. The team name should be unique and MUST NOT contain the name of institute in any form.
4. A max of 30 teams (25 Shortlisted + 5 Waitlisted) per college can be nominated (including Problem statement based/Student innovation category).
5. Team Leader can nominate up to 2 mentors preferably having relevant expertise in academia or industry experience.
6. For Hardware Edition, 2 Industry mentors are encouraged specifically those with over 5 years of hands on experience in hardware industry. Each team of 6 team members may have 2 mentors.(optional)
7. Teams have to present their idea and solution in PPT as per the given format in Internal SIH 2024. (PPT format: click for ppt ). The Registrations are open till 11:59 PM, 6th September, 2024.

8. The presentations of solutions of nominated 30 (25 Shortlisted + 5 Waitlisted) teams in internal SIH 2024 will be uploaded on SIH portal by the single point of contact (SPOC), i.e. college, and the ideas will be evaluated by experts. Evaluation criteria will include novelty of the idea, complexity, clarity and details in the prescribed format, feasibility, practicability, sustainability, scale of impact, user experience and potential for future work.
