RULES FOR TECH URJA 2K26

 

Rules for Paper Presentation

 

      Team should have minimum 2 and maximum 3 participants.

      Duration of presentation should be between 4 to 6 minutes.

      Slides to be prepared should not be less than 8 and not more than 12.

      Each team will be asked two questions by judges related to presentation.

      The presentation will be judged by judges on the basis of : Content of presentation, Confidence and verbal Skills, Use of graphics, Sound, video and question round

1

Bridge Building

      3 members make a team.

      Only wooden popsicle sticks and white glue can be used

to make your bridge.

      You may use no more than 120 popsicle sticks.

      The bridge must be atleast 300mm long and has an overall width of at least 100mm.

      Please remember that load testing may result in the destruction of the bridge.

      Total time allotted for the event is 60 minutes and after 2 hours of making load testing will be done in front of judges.

      Load will be applied in the center of the span on the roadbed" surface.

      A bridge may be considered to have "failed" under the test load if the bridge components break, crack, or separate, causing the collapse.

      Items used :- Popsicle, gums and construction paper.

Solid PRO Test

      Maximum One participant per college is allowed.

      Topic will be announced on the spot.

Object Scaling

Drawing

      Maximum One participant per college is allowed.

      Problem to test the logic will be given on the spot.

      Participants must bring their own all require items

CATAPULT

      2 members make a team.

      Items used :- Popsicle, gums and construction paper Cardboard and any waste material.

      Total time allotted for the event is 60 minutes and after 2 hours of making CATAPULT.

      Testing will be done by calculating the distance of object to through.

AUTO CAD 2D PLAN

      A drawing will give to participants & they will have to draw it in AUTOCAD.

      The drawing should be made with proper dimensioning.

      Any discrepancy leads to disqualification of candidate.

      Total time allotted for the event is 25 minutes and 5 minutes to think over the matter.

      Candidates who finish the task first will win the first round.

      Shortlisted candidate will appear in round 2.

      Same rules must be followed in round 2

SURVEY HUNT

      A team shall be of 3 members only.

      In first round screening test shall be conducted and top 4 teams will be selected for second round based on the accuracy of the work.

      Time allotted for task is 1 hour.

Logic X

(Programming in C  & C++)

      Maximum two participants per team is allowed.

      Problem to test the logic will be given on the spot.

      C/C++ language will be used to solve the given problem

      Judgment of this event will be based on solution strategy and time consumption used to solve the problem, correctness and completeness of the program.

Tech Whiz

      One participant per team is allowed.

      Logos and Computer parts will be shown on the spot.

      Total of 2 wrong answers out of 5will result in disqualification.

Logic Gates

      One participant per team is allowed.

      The statement problem will be provided on the spot.

      The logic will have to be built on the basis of proper examination of the given result provided with the Logic Gates to be used

Short Movie (8-10 Minutes)

     Max. 8 teams

     10 students in each team

     Movie should be on the topic given.

     Topic will be given 4 days prior of the events ‘

     No abusiveness or vulgarity will be allowed otherwise disqualified.

      Movie will be submitted to the coordinators on the said date.

Code Sprint (coding Challenge in JAVA & Python)

    Max 2 Participants

    Problem to test logic will be given on spot.

    No built-ins to be used

    Use of Internet is strictly prohibited

Bug Hunters (Debugging Contest)

 

    Only 1 Participant is allowed

    Use of Internet is strictly prohibited

    Pre- written code will be given

    Only error correction is allowed

 Mapping Semester Based Learning CSE Model

      Max 2 Participants

      Group subjects by core computing concepts such as: Data Computation, Systems, Intelligence , Security

Circuit  Design

Challenge

      Participants design simple PCB (e.g LED flasher).

      Judged on design time, optimization, and creativity.

      LED Blink Challenge Task: Make an LED blink using given components.

      Skills: Basic electronics

      Time: 5–10 minutes

      Twist: Blink in a given pattern (slow–fast–slow)

      Answer as many basic ECE questions as possible in 60 seconds.

      Students design the robot and try to push it out from the marked area.

Towel Art

      Entry per institution will be one.

      Team of 2 students can participate at a time.

      Time Duration for this event is 15 mins.

      Each team will bring their own towels for the event.

      Mobile phones are not allowed.

      It should be done in front of the judges.

No Flame Cooking

      Entry per institution will be one.

      Team of 2 students can participate at a time.

      Time Duration for this event is 30 mins.

      Ingredients should be brought by participants themselves.

      Mobile phones are not allowed.

      Event judges will be final and binding.

      Preparation should be done in front of the judges.

Preparation of Mocktails

      Entry per institution will be one.

      Each Team will consist of 2 members.

      Time Duration for this event is 30 mins.

      Each team will bring their own ingredients for the event.

      Mobile phones are not allowed.

      Preparation should be done in front of the judges.

Rangoli

      Size: 2’x2’ to 4’x4’ (5% permissible variation)

      Only one medium may be used: poster colors, flower petals, sawdust, pulses, or rice (without pasting).

      The art form may be freehand, pictorial, or descriptive (e.g., mandna, alpana, alekhan, Kollam, Rangoli).

      Participants must prepare the Rangoli within the space provided by the organizers.

      Topic/theme will be given on the spot by the judges.

      Accessories (e.g., sieve, spoon, scale) are allowed.

Mehndi

      The event will be conducted on a subject/idea given on the spot.

      Additional instructions will be announced on the spot.

      Participants must bring their own materials; only traditional Indian motifs are allowed (no Arabian Mehndi or glitter).

      Credit will be given for originality, creativity, and aesthetic sense.

      No handprints, molds, or decorative materials are permitted.

      Mehndi must extend to the palmar side forearm (minimum 6 inches).

Best out of waste

      Only waste or discarded materials must be used; new decorative items are not allowed.

      The item must be made on the spot within the given time limit; pre-made items are prohibited.

      Creativity and originality are mandatory; copied designs may lead to disqualification.

      Use of hazardous or unsafe materials is strictly prohibited.

      Judges’ decision will be final and binding.

Solo Singing

      Time for Stage/Instrument Setting: Up to 1 minute

      Maximum accompanists:02

      Instrumental Music Is allowed for support.

      Professional accompanists must sit/stand separately, not lead, and wear different attire from participants.

      Language: English, Hindi, or Punjabi

      Judgment based on singing quality, composition, rhythm, coordination, and general impression..

       Judgment based on rhythm, formation, expression, costumes, makeup, overall effect, symmetry, composition, and general impression (e.g., grace, expressions)

      Cheating, hacks, emulators, stream sniping, or teaming = instant disqualification.

      Only mobile devices allowed—no PC/emulators; bring your own charged phone + ID proof.

      Abusive chat, harassment, or damaging any setup = penalty or disqualification.

      Arrive on time for room joining & setup; late teams forfeit the match.

 UrjaXPO 

  •       Every Team has Maximum 4 Members.
  •       Project Should be related to Science & Technology based on either Hardware & Software. 
  •       Project Must be Working or demo model. 
  •       Copied project from internet without modified are not allowed. 
  •       Each team will bring their own poster prepared for project idea. 
  •       Set-up time will be given to you before the exhibition start. 
  •       Every team members must have ID Proof 
  •       Any damage to other project will led to disqualification.

      Open to all UG/PG students of the institute.

       Participation can be individual or team-based.

       A team may have maximum 5 members.

       Content must be technology-oriented, focusing on:

   Innovation & Entrepreneurship

   Emerging Technologies (AI, IoT, Robotics, Green Tech, Cybersecurity, etc.)

   Startup culture

   Social impact through technology

       Content should align with IIC objectives.

       Reel: 30–90 seconds

       Skit: 3–5 minutes

       Exceeding the time limit may lead to disqualification or penalty.

       Content must be original and created exclusively for this event.

       No plagiarism, copied reels, or reused performances.

       No offensive, political, religious, or inappropriate content.

       Must maintain academic and social decorum.

      Use of copyrighted music is discouraged.

       Entries must be submitted before the deadline via the provided link/email.

       File name format:

       Late submissions will not be accepted.

      Decision of the Organizing Committee / IIC Coordinator will be final and binding.

One Minute JAM

      Time Limit:
Each participant will get exactly 1 minute to speak on the given topic.

      Topic Allotment:
Topics will be provided on the spot related to Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Start-ups, Technology, Research, or IIC themes.

      No Pauses:
Participants must speak continuously without unnecessary pauses, repetition, or hesitation.

      Language:
The JAM may be conducted in English / Hindi (as decided by the organisers).

      Judging Criteria:

   Content relevance

   Clarity of thought

   Fluency & confidence

   Innovation / originality

   Time management

      Disqualification:

   Speaking beyond 1 minute

   Long pauses or deviation from topic

   Use of offensive or inappropriate language

      Decision of Judges:
The decision of the judging panel will be final and binding.

      Participation Certificate:
All participants will receive IIC participation certificates.
Winners will receive certificates/prizes (if applicable).

Youth Parliament

 

       Eligibility

   The Youth Parliament is open to UG/PG students of the institution.

   Participation can be individual or team-based, as specified by the organizers.

      Registration

   Participants must register in advance through the official IIC registration link.

   On-spot registrations may be allowed subject to availability.

      Theme & Agenda

   The theme/topic of the Youth Parliament will be announced in advance.

   Participants must strictly adhere to the allotted agenda.

      Roles & Allotment

   Roles (Speaker, Minister, Leader of Opposition, Chairperson, etc.) will be assigned prior to the event.

   Role change requests will not be entertained on the event day.

      Time Limit

   Each participant will be given a fixed speaking time.

   Exceeding the time limit may lead to point deduction or interruption by the Chair.

      Code of Conduct

   Participants must maintain parliamentary decorum and respectful language.

   Personal attacks, offensive remarks, or inappropriate gestures are strictly prohibited.

      Use of Aids

   Use of mobile phones, scripts, or electronic devices during speaking time is not allowed, unless permitted.

   Notes may be used only with prior approval.

      Decision of Jury

   The decision of the jury/organizing committee shall be final and binding.

      Attendance & Certification

   Minimum attendance and active participation are mandatory for certification.

   Certificates will be issued as per IIC norms.

      Discipline & Disqualification

   Any violation of rules may result in warning or disqualification.

   The organizing committee reserves the right to modify rules if required.

Ad-Mad Show

 Team Formation

      Participation can be individual or in teams.

      Each team may have 2–4 members.

      Participants must be bonafide students of the institution.

  Time Limit

      Each team will be given 2–3 minutes to perform.

      Negative marking or penalty may be applied for exceeding the time limit.

 Performance Guidelines

      Performances should be original, creative, and spontaneous.

      Any product, service, social issue, or innovative idea may be advertised.

      Use of props, placards, costumes, or charts is allowed.

      Digital aids, videos, or slides are not permitted unless specified by organizers.

  Restrictions

      Content must be decent and appropriate.

      Use of obscene language, offensive gestures, or political/religious remarks is strictly prohibited.

      Any form of plagiarism or copied content will lead to disqualification.

 General Rules

      The decision of the judges will be final and binding.

      Organizers reserve the right to modify rules if required.

      Participants must report 15 minutes before the event time.

Treasure Hunt 

      Eligibility:
The event is open to all registered students of the institute.

      Team Formation:

   Each team must consist of 3–4 members.

   Inter-departmental teams are allowed.

   Only one team per student is permitted.

      Registration:

   Prior registration is mandatory.

   Teams must register before the announced deadline.

      Event Format:

   The Treasure Hunt will consist of multiple rounds involving clues, riddles, puzzles, and innovation-based tasks.

   Clues will be related to innovation, entrepreneurship, problem-solving, and general aptitude.

      Time Limit:

   Each round must be completed within the specified time.

   Late completion may lead to penalties or disqualification.

      Rules During the Game:

   Use of mobile phones, internet, or unfair means is strictly prohibited unless specifically allowed by the coordinators.

   Teams must stay within the designated areas only.

   Damaging property or misbehavior will lead to immediate disqualification.

      Hints & Penalties:

   Hints may be provided on request with time penalties.

   Penalty details will be announced before the event starts.

      Judging & Results:

   The team that finds the final treasure in the shortest time with maximum accuracy will be declared the winner.

   In case of a tie, an additional task or time evaluation will be considered.

      Code of Conduct:

   Participants must maintain discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the event.

   Decisions of the event coordinators and judges will be final and binding.

      Certificates & Prizes:

   Participation certificates will be provided to all eligible participants.
