What is Moreficent?

We run standard desktop applications, like Android Studio, in the cloud and stream the user interface to the browser. Through a combination of advances in algorithms and the adoption of cutting-edge standards, we are able to make the remote application feel as responsive as the one running locally. 

 

Why Moreficent?

With Moreficent, the hackathon participants get to take advantage of the limitless resources of the cloud for faster builds, modern streaming technology for better collaboration between the teams, and replicating a standard programming setup across all teams, so that they don’t need to spend time dealing with boilerplate. 

We help the participants focus on solving the problem statement, instead of worrying about setting up anything or being limited by the resources of their physical devices.

College Student Results Android App

The College Student results app is an android application. It enables the students to check and get their semester results within their mobiles by using their enrollment number.

This College Student results in a mobile app system developed for students to check both the internal & external examination results.

Primarily, by using this result app project we can generate student individual results and analyse subject-wise and department-wise analysis.

Hostel Appliances Repair and Maintenance System App

Make an android application to make a hostel appliance repair and maintenance system. Which would accept complaints against damaged fans and lights in hostel rooms and other areas of the hostel like gym, mess etc. and show the status of the registered complaints.

The app will have two sides, the user end and the admin end. The user end can be accessed by hostel residents to lodge complaints, view the status of the complaint and see the complaint’s history. Whereas, on the admin end, the admin can view the lodged complaints and update the status of the complaint.

College Sports Resource Booking Android

The main aim of this College Sports Resource Booking Android project is for students in the college to book sports material on the college premises.

Expense Android Application

This Pocket Expense Application will maintain data of daily, Weekly, Monthly, and Yearly expenses. Users can select a category of expense, enter other information like user can capture photos, add GPS locations, enter comments, select the amount of expense etc.

And this android application saves it to a local database. Users can view and sort expenses as per daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly.

The application will display a graph as per the selected view. Users can enter his monthly income or limit their monthly expenses.

• Use only Google Chrome Browser for Moreficent.

• Make sure you have Internet Speed of minimum 10 MBPS to get a seamless experience.

Bug Resolution

Android Studio on Moreficent is the exact same that you would download from Googles website and most workflows are exactly the same. There might be some small differences however, and most you will be able to understand by referring to the documentation at https://docs.moreficent.com/. You can access the docs at anytime by clicking on the documentation icon illustrated below.

 

Since we are a new platform, there might be some bugs that arise. In this case, we ask that you file a bug report and reach out to us directly on Discord as well. We’ll be on call to resolve any issues you face and we’ll be free to jump in on a quick VC call with you as well. You can follow the steps below.w

 

1. File a bug using the bug report button.

2. Select the Bug category and priority.

3. Follow this steps:

Rules and Guidelines 

• Hacking must be started & completed entirely during the scheduled time i.e. 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM which is duration of 12 Hours.

• Using Moreficent Platform is mandatory for building an Android/Flutter App.

• Projects that are started prior to the start of the hackathon will be disqualified.

• Submissions should be made before the time in order to qualify for judging. The submission time can be extended subject to the organisers' decision.

• This will be an individual mode hackathon.

Frequently Asked Questions [FAQs]

1. Will premade projects be allowed in a hackathon?

• The hack should be built in hackathon duration and Moreficent platform.  If a Premade/Plagiarised project is found,  the team won't qualify for the Judging Process.

2. Do we need to have the entire idea fully working?

• The entire idea need not be fully implemented; however, the submission should be functional so that it can be reviewed by the judges.

3. How do I submit what I have made for the Hackathon?

• The submission process will be informed via email. Also, You can reach out to organisers for any related to any issue regarding the submission.

4.  If  there’s any technical issues encountered,Will Moreficent Team be available to help/resolve the problem?

•  Yes, The Moreficent team will be available throughout the duration for help and can resolve any tech issues related to the platform.

5.  Can I know how my project will be evaluated?

• You can find the Judging Parameters above. There will be experienced professionals who will be the judges who will evaluate the solutions.

6. Is there any disqualification policy?

• We appreciate the strenuous efforts of students who will participate in hackathons. If any unfair means are found, organisers reserve the right to disqualify the project.
