Community Guidelines — Women in Tech Singapore

Our community is built to be a supportive, inclusive, and growth-oriented space for women and allies in technology. These guidelines ensure that everyone can participate safely, respectfully, and meaningfully.


🌟 Code of Conduct

1. Be Respectful

  • Treat all members with professionalism and kindness.

  • Respect differing opinions, backgrounds, and experiences.

  • Disagreements are okay—disrespect is not.

2. Be Inclusive

  • Use inclusive language.

  • Avoid assumptions about gender, experience level, or background.

  • Welcome beginners as much as experienced professionals.

3. No Harassment or Discrimination

  • Zero tolerance for harassment, hate speech, or discrimination of any kind.

  • This includes comments related to gender, race, religion, nationality, sexual orientation, disability, or age.

4. Respect Privacy

  • Do not share personal information (yours or others’) without consent.

  • Keep private conversations private.

5. Constructive Contributions Only

  • Share knowledge, ask questions, and contribute meaningfully.

  • Avoid negativity, trolling, or unproductive criticism.


🛡️ Safe Space Policies

1. Psychological Safety First

  • This is a judgment-free zone for asking questions and learning.

  • No question is “too basic.”

2. Support Over Criticism

  • Give feedback that is constructive, not dismissive.

  • Aim to help others improve, not discourage them.

3. No Intimidation or Gatekeeping

  • Avoid elitist behavior or making others feel unwelcome.

  • Encourage participation from all skill levels.

4. Reporting & Moderation

  • If you experience or witness inappropriate behavior, report it to moderators.

  • Moderators reserve the right to remove content or members that violate guidelines.


💬 Posting Etiquette

1. Stay Relevant

  • Post in the appropriate forum or topic.

  • Keep discussions aligned with tech, careers, learning, and community growth.

2. Be Clear & Helpful

  • Use descriptive titles when asking questions.

  • Provide context so others can help you effectively.

3. No Spam or Self-Promotion (Without Context)

  • Avoid excessive promotion of products, services, or events.

  • Share opportunities only if they are relevant and valuable to the community.

4. Give Credit

  • Acknowledge sources when sharing content, code, or ideas.

  • Do not plagiarize.

5. Engage Respectfully

  • Respond thoughtfully.

  • Appreciate others’ contributions.
