Application Programming Interface (API)
In simple terms, APIs are programs that allow applications to communicate with one another. (From the above image, you can see that APIs are not servers or databases which they are usually mistaken for)
For this Lab, we will mainly focus on web-based APIs that return data in response to the request made by the client.
